The crime heard around the world : a feminist critical discourse analysis of media coverage of the New Delhi gang rape.

This study provides an in-depth analysis using feminist critical discourse to analyze media coverage of a horrific rape case in New Delhi, India that galvanized a country and captivated the collective conscience of a society demanding a change in the treatment of women. In the wake of the brutal gang rape that claimed the life of the victim, media from around the globe covered the case and its aftermath. This study seeks to understand and analyze the coverage presented to determine how the case was covered and what themes and frames were present in the coverage as well as make recommendations to journalists covering rape cases.
