Although China is a one-party state, dissident thinkers have a long history in China and have even been encouraged by the Chinese Communist Party at specific times during the last century. In recent times, many of these thinkers have coalesced into dissident political parties. This thesis translates documents recently published by some of these political parties, and provides an introduction to recent dissident thinkers in China. It shows how modern dissidents have learned from the attempts of previous 20th century dissidents.en_US
