The measured experimental cross sections are compared with other experimental and theoretical cross sections available in the literature. A simple empirical formula is also developed by using the present measurements to predict the cross sections of linear fluorocarbons as a function of the electron energy and the number of atoms in the target molecule. This empirical formula is used to calculate the total cross sections of linear fluorocarbons in the energy range 0.30 to 3.50 keV. Those empirically calculated cross sections are compared to the present experimental cross sections and other experimental and theoretical cross sections available in the literature.ix, 75 p. : ill.154551 bytes1869561 bytesapplication/pdfapplication/pdfen-USBaylor University theses are protected by copyright.
