dc.description.abstractTransformational Leadership is a leadership style that has been studied since 1978 and continues to be a style that is currently being researched. At its core transformational leadership is a process in which the leader engages alongside their followers in order to inspire and increase the morale for those in the organization. While the transformational leadership style is customarily studied in a real life dyad, social media platforms like Twitter can give transformational leaders the opportunity to inspire and increase morale in a digital world. This study seeks to identify perceptions of transformational leadership through social media use. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant correlation between perceptions of transformational leadership and use of Twitter by an individual’s leader and a marginally significant correlation between Twitter use and communication satisfaction in the workplace.
