dc.description.abstractObjective: This paper examines the religious differences between American Latino and Anglo Catholics. Method: This study uses multivariate analyses to model the differences between these groups on traditional measures of religious behavior, belonging, belief, and experience of God. Data come from the Faith Matters Survey (2006-2007), a national sample of over 3,100, including 388 Latinos. Results: Despite language and substantial SES differences, Latino and Anglo Catholics exhibit similar religious behaviors, beliefs and attachments to the Roman Catholic Church. Still, Latinos and Anglos differ in their experiences of God and frequency of personal prayer. These findings recommend that Latino and Anglo Catholics remain combined in religious tradition typologies.en_US
