J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series is one of the best-selling in history, is translated into a multitude of different languages, has a fan base that few other authors can rival and it is a still a series that has much to share. This thesis explores the loves detailed in C.S. Lewis’ book The Four Loves and how they are manifested in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Each love has its own chapter and explores the way the love is displayed in the novels, oftentimes positively and sometimes negatively. In addition, Severus Snape is explored in a chapter entirely his own. The thesis draws on philosophers such as Soren Kierkegaard and theologians such as Martin Luther King Jr. as well as others to supplement Lewis.en_US
