dc.description.abstractEuripides’ play Ion, like his other works, has been translated numerous times into English. However, these translations are often completed in poetic verse, and while still readable, can deter or isolate modern audiences from engaging with the text. This translation aims to create a prose rendition of the play in idiomatic English that is easier to read while still retaining elements of the original Greek. Combined with a section of endnotes to help explain obscure mythological allusions as well as point out interesting features of the language, this project hopes to make the world of Greek tragedy a little more accessible to the modern audience.en_US
