dc.description.abstract | This thesis will analyze a selection of United States Supreme Court cases involving public aid provided to religious and sectarian organizations. It will begin with why I have come to be interested in this topic, before defining the three competing conceptions of Freedom of Religion: Freedom of Religion, Freedom for Religion, and Freedom from Religion. Each conception will have a dedicated chapter that analyzes the arguments presented in United States’ Supreme Court opinions. The final chapter will argue for the adoption of the Whisman Wall and the Lime test, which appear to be the new direction the Roberts Court appears to be taking though there are not enough Supreme Court cases to affirm this as the approach of the Roberts Court. | en_US |
