dc.description.abstractThis study explored the press-military relationship during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) through case studies of embedded journalists and military personnel. Embedded journalists and military personnel were interviewed using the oral-history technique. Embedded journalists judged their performance as successful in covering the war and had a positive view of their relationship with the military. Military personnel responded favorably to embedded journalists’ coverage of OIF and also positively assessed their relationship with the journalists. Interviews with both press and military members revealed multiple factors that influenced embedded journalists and their coverage of OIF.en
